Gold prices 1.28% higher at Rs 76,529 on Nov 21: MCX data

On November 21, gold closed at Rs 76529.00, a 1.28 percent increase from the previous day, according to MCX.

The spot market has seen a 21.28 percent rise in gold prices since the start of the year.

Additionally, gold prices are up by 25.17 percent year-over-year, based on Moneycontrol's analysis.

Gold prices were below the Rs 79,362 mark set on October 30.

Gold futures closed at Rs 76,533 per 10 grams on November 21, showing a 0.66 percent jump from the previous day.

Gold price rate varied city-wise on November 21.

Gold price in Delhi

The price of 24-carat gold in Delhi on November 21 was Rs 76.070, while the gold rate for 22-carat was Rs 72,450. The Delhi rate was 0.41 percent higher on November 21.

Gold price in Mumbai

In Mumbai, 24-carat gold was Rs 75,860, while 22-carat was Rs 72,250. The Mumbai rate was 0.41 percent higher.

Gold price in Chennai

In Chennai, 24-carat gold cost was 0.41 percent higher at Rs 75,020, and 22-carat gold traded at Rs 71,450.

Gold price in Bengaluru

In Bengaluru, 24-carat gold cost Rs 76,230, and 22-carat gold was Rs 72,600. The Bengaluru rate was 0.41 percent higher.

Outlook

In the second quarter of 2024, gold demand decreased by 6 percent to 929 tonnes, driven primarily by a decline in jewellery consumption.

World Gold Council notes technology use of gold also increased during this period.
