State-run fertiliser firm RCF today reported 45 percent fall in net profit at Rs 36.59 crore for the quarter ended on March 31, due to higher expenses and finance cost.
The company had a net profit of Rs 66.27 crore in the same period of 2014-15 fiscal.
Total income from operations during the January-March quarter rose to Rs 2,077.68 crore, from Rs 2,025.73 crore in the year-ago period, Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilisers said in a filing to the BSE.
Expenses rose to Rs 2,031.18 crore in the quarter compared to Rs 1929.51 crore in the year ago period.
Finance cost too jumped to Rs 45.63 crore in January-March 2015-16, from Rs 24.98 crore in the same period of last year, it said.
