Country's top manganese ore producer MOIL today saw over seven-fold jump in net profit to Rs 101.41 crore for the quarter ended December 2016, on impressive growth in income.
The state-run company had clocked a net profit of Rs 13.16 crore during the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal, it said in a BSE filing.
The company's income from operations rose about four-fold to Rs 355.30 crore as against Rs 88.96 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago.
Its total expenses, however, rose to Rs 231.57 crore during the quarter under review as against Rs 87.31 crore in the year-ago quarter.
The shares of the company closed at Rs 361.15 apiece on the BSE, down 1.45 percent from the previous close.
