Rain Commodities has acquired Birla Cement and Industries from Yash Birla Group. Post acquisition, Birla Cement and Industries has become a wholly owned subsidiary of the company.  Birla Cement holds certain Limestone Mining Leases in Andhra Pradesh.


Rain Commodities, together with its subsidiaries, is engaged in the manufacture and sale of cement in India and internationally. The company markets cement under the Priya Cement brand in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. It is also involved in manufacturing and trading calcined petroleum coke that is used in various industries, such as aluminum, titanium dioxide, and steel industries and generation of power through waste heat recovery.

The company was formerly known as Priyadarshini Cement Limited and changed its name to Rain Commodities Limited in November 2004.
