FMCG giant Procter & Gamble (P&G) is reducing the price of its sanitary napkins and baby diapers by up to 15% as a result of the excise duty cut announced during the recent Union Budget, reports The Economic Times.
"We have announced reduction of our selling price to our customers across specific SKUs with effect from March 16, 2011. We have recommended revised retail prices for Whisper Sanitary Napkins and Pampers Baby Diapers for our consumers," a Procter & Gamble spokesperson told PTI, the report adds.
The company said the price change is consequent to the reduction in the excise duty announced on sanitary napkins and baby diapers from 10% to 5% in the Budget 2011-12, the report says.
