India’s effort to build a competitive electronics and semiconductor ecosystem has accelerated in recent years. As global supply chains diversify and demand for advanced electronic components rises, the country is targeting domestic market growth from an estimated USD 45–50 billion in FY25 to USD 100–110 billion by 2030. Uttar Pradesh has placed itself at the centre of this push through new policy initiatives, expanding industrial clusters and a slate of strategic investments.
Against this backdrop, CNBC-TV18 and Moneycontrol will host the UP Tech Next Electronics and Semiconductor Summit on December 2 in Lucknow. The summit will offer a close look at the state’s strategy, its growing manufacturing base, and the opportunities emerging across design, fabrication, testing and advanced electronics.
Uttar Pradesh’s recent semiconductor policy introduces a range of incentives to bolster investor confidence, including capital support aligned with national programmes, interest subsidies for eligible investments, land-related incentives and waivers designed to encourage long-term operational commitments. Major proposals — including the HCL–Foxconn project in the Yamuna Expressway region and Tarq Semiconductors’ plan backed by the Hiranandani Group — highlight the scale of interest. Parallel developments in Noida, Greater Noida and Kasna, along with academic contributions from IIT Kanpur, IIT BHU and IIIT Prayagraj, are strengthening the state’s talent and innovation pipeline.
The summit will bring together senior policymakers such as Sushil Pal, Joint Secretary at MeitY; Sunil Kumar Sharma, UP Cabinet Minister for IT and Electronics; Anurag Yadav, Principal Secretary, IT and Electronics, UP; and Ravi Ranjan, Managing Director of UP Electronics Corporation and UP Tourism Corporation. Industry leaders including Rajesh Agarwal of Bhagwati Products, Vivek Tyagi of Analog Devices India, Pankaj Mohindroo of ICEA, Ashok Chandak of IESA, Parag Naik of Saankhya Labs, and representatives from HCL Corporation, Speciale Invest, PwC and academic institutions will also participate.
UP Tech Next 2025 will convene the leaders shaping India’s semiconductor ambitions at a moment when the country is preparing for significant scale. For those seeking a direct view of where India’s electronics and semiconductor sectors are headed — and the people driving that transition — this is the room to be in.
