Kawasaki India brought four cylinders worth of excitement to the biking community with the unveiling of the 2024 Ninja ZX-6R at the India Bike Week 2023. The middleweight supersport motorcycle brings a blend of design updates, performance enhancements, and cutting-edge features to the table.

The look

The 2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R maintains its iconic supersport design but not without some refreshing tweaks. Minor alterations in the fascia, inspired by the ZX-10R, introduce subtle curves to enhance the bike's aesthetic appeal. The contoured 17-litre fuel tank, split seats, full fairing, sharp mirrors, aerodynamic windscreen, and twin LED headlamps contribute to its aggressive yet stylish demeanour. The overall design is a testament to Kawasaki's Sugomi design language blending form with function.

The performance

Underneath the sleek exterior lies a powerhouse – a 636cc, in-line four-cylinder engine meticulously crafted to comply with the latest emission norms. This engine roars to life, generating a formidable 129 bhp at 13,000 rpm and 69 Nm at 10,800 rpm. The six-speed gearbox, complemented by a bi-directional quickshifter, ensures seamless transitions through the gears. The inclusion of a RAM air intake system adds an extra layer of performance.

The 2024 Ninja ZX-6R boasts a sophisticated suspension setup, with Showa Separate Function forks (SFF-BP) in the front and a gas-charged monoshock at the rear. The suspension system features rebound and compression damping as well as spring preload adjustability, allowing riders to fine-tune their experience. Braking duties are handled by dual 310 mm front discs and a single 220 mm rear disc, delivering precise stopping power. The 17-inch wheels, wrapped in 120/70 front and 180/55 rear tires, contribute to the bike's stability and agility.

A lightweight yet sturdy aluminium perimeter frame forms the backbone of the Ninja ZX-6R. With 130 mm of ground clearance, the bike strikes a balance between sporty handling and practicality. Weighing 198 kg and featuring an 830 mm high seat, the ZX-6R will prove to be easy even for shorter riders.

The features

Kawasaki has equipped the Ninja ZX-6R with a comprehensive set of rider aids and safety features. Traction control, multiple ride modes (Street, Sport, Rain, and Rider), ABS, and a quickshifter cater to the rider's preferences and enhance overall control. The 4.3-inch TFT display not only provides essential information but also offers seamless smartphone connectivity, adding a touch of modernity to the riding experience.

The pricing

While the official price is yet to be announced by Kawasaki India, market speculations hint at a range between Rs 11 lakh and Rs 13 lakh (ex-showroom). Enthusiasts can expect the official launch to take place in the first half of 2024. The 2024 Ninja ZX-6R's arrival follows the company's recent launches, reinforcing Kawasaki's commitment to bringing its global lineup to the Indian market.
