Bajaj Auto to invest Rs 1,364 crore in Netherlands-based arm

Bajaj Auto on February 21 said it will invest 150 million euros (Rs 1,364 crore) in its wholly-owned subsidiary Bajaj Auto International Holdings BV, Netherlands (BAIH BV).

"The proposed investment is a related party transaction and will be carried out on an arm’s length basis," said Bajaj Auto in a stock exchange filing.

The turnover of the company for FY24 was Rs 19 crore and net worth was Rs 5,488 crore.

BAIH BV is engaged in the business of investment. The capital infusion will be made in one or more tranches depending on the fund requirements up to March 31, 2026, said Bajaj Auto.

"The additional investment up to Euro 150 million (equivalent to Rs 1,364 crore at an assumed exchange rate of 1 Euro = Rs. 90.9108) in Bajaj Auto International Holdings BV, Netherlands, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company will be either in the form of equity capital / preference capital / loan – convertible or otherwise. No change in ownership / percentage holding. BAIH BV will continue to remain the wholly owned subsidiary of Bajaj Auto Limited," said the two- and three-wheeler major.

The 'Pulsar' motorcycle manufacturer reported that profit rose 3.3% to Rs 2,109 crore for the October-December quarter.

The company reported an EBITDA margin of 20.2%, up from 20.12% a year earlier.

On February 21, Bajaj Auto shares closed 1.45% lower at Rs 8,504.9 apiece.
