Chief Minister Gehlot, battling to retain his chair in the November 25 polls, had earlier announced seven "guarantees" to the people of the state, if the party is re-elected to power. "If our Congress president is coming to launch the manifesto, then you can see how much importance we are giving to it… Last time too, after winning the elections, we kept the manifesto in the first cabinet meeting and approved it… This is our way of working…” he said earlier on November 21.

The Congress has lined up “seven guarantees” to attract voters. These are:

- Annual honorarium of Rs 10,000 to women head of family

- LPG cylinders for Rs 500 to 1.05 crore families

- Purchase of dung for Rs 2 per kg

- Law for old pension scheme for government employees

- Laptop or tablet to students taking admission in government colleges

- Insurance cover up to Rs 15 lakh per family to compensate losses due to natural calamity

The BJP released its poll manifesto focusing on better prospects for the farmers, youth, and the women. It had promised to form a special investigation team (SIT) to investigate alleged scams under the current Congress government, to transform the state into a $350-billion economy, and several women-centric and welfare schemes.

The polls to the 200-member Rajasthan Legislative Assembly will be held in a single phase on November 25 and the votes will be counted on December 3.
