The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has given Lord's Mark Industries Limited the job of installing solar highway lighting in 104 accident-prone and blackspot areas that the MoRT&H has designated as needing it in Phase 1 along major national highway routes in the Vijayawada region.
After a competitive bidding process, Lord's Mark Industries Limited, along with Signify Innovations India Limited (previously Philips Lighting India Limited), won the contract to do the survey, design, manufacturing, and implementation of the project.
The initiative is a technology-led effort to improve road safety. It is based on a world-first, data-driven strategy that combines research-backed accident analytics, on-the-ground visibility diagnostics, and smart solar illumination design. This solution is different from other lighting projects because it uses proprietary survey frameworks and predictive risk mapping to find and fix structural safety gaps at accident-prone blackspots. The deployment is not about increasing light; it's about building visibility outcomes that target glare, contrast loss, approach angles, and driver reaction zones to significantly lower the number of accidents and make the highway safer.
The work includes several important highway sections, such as Km 741.255 to Km 1022.494 on the Anakapalli–Annavaram–Diwancheruvu section of NH-16, the Diwancheruvu–Siddhantham–Gundugolanu section of NH-216, the Gundugolanu–Devarapalli–Kovvuru stretch from Km 15.320 to Km 85.204 on NH-16, and the Kathipudi to the start of the Kakinada Bypass from Km 0.000 to Km 27.500 on NH-216.
The Vijayawada mandate is the first step in a wider program that Lord's Mark aims to carry out over four years. The program will encompass national highways in other states as it grows in later phases.
Sachidanand Upadhyay, Managing Director of Lord's Mark Industries Limited, said, "Winning this mandate through a very competitive bidding process is a strong endorsement of Lord's Mark's data-driven approach and execution skills." This project is more than just building infrastructure; it is a big step toward using technology to make roads safer. Working with Signify Innovations gives the program access to global knowledge and makes it easier for us to provide scalable, future-ready solutions that are in line with national safety goals.
The award is a big step forward for Lord's Mark Industries. It strengthens the company's position in public infrastructure, sustainable solutions, and technology-enabled safety systems, and it gives the company a foundation for long-term growth through big government-led programs.
