Veteran actress Rekha’s style continues to remain unmatched. After a series of stunning appearances this year, she stole the spotlight once again in a Manish Malhotra ensemble for the screening of Umrao Jaan.
The actress dazzled on the red carpet in an organza chikankari and badla kurta, paired with a gold tissue lehenga and a Banarasi gold-and-silver zari dupatta. The real silver and gold, along with the rich textures and intricate design, added opulence to the look.
With her regal charm, Rekha transported fans back in time, paying tribute to her unforgettable character Umrao Jaan from the film directed by celebrated filmmaker Muzaffar Ali. At the event, the actress even twirled in her outfit, much to the delight of the paparazzi.
Rekha’s look was accessorised with traditional jewellery, including an antique passa, jhumkas, bangles, and rings. She carried a golden potli bag and added an old-world touch with a gajra adorning her bun. She completed the look in her signature style — red lipstick and sindoor.
Designer Manish Malhotra was also present at the screening, looking ever so dapper in a black suit that combined elements of both a tuxedo and a bandhgala. He styled it with white trousers and black shoes.
The evening saw many prominent Bollywood stars in attendance. Alia Bhatt recreated Rekha’s iconic Silsila look in a pink saree, Aamir Khan—dressed in all black—arrived with his sisters, Tabu turned heads in a rich red outfit, and Janhvi stunned in an ivory chikankari set.
Just a few days ago, Rekha was also spotted at the premiere of Sitaare Zameen Par, wearing a handwoven kora gold and black striped Banarasi saree with an intricately woven border, teamed with a classic full-sleeved blouse.
