With the Indian Premier League (IPL) just around the corner, cricket fever is about to take hold of the nation! Hosting an IPL screening party at home with your close-knit circle has become one of the coolest trends this season. Of course, no IPL party is complete without food. We expect Zomato vs Swiggy will heat up too as the IPL begins on March 22. But what about the cloud kitchens behind them - are there any with match-day specials? We looked up a few cloud kitchens in Mumbai, to help enhance your cricketing season experience with fuss-free IPL parties:
Maiz Mexican Kitchen
Picture this: you're on the edge of your comfy sofa, eyes glued to the cricket match unfolding on your TV screen. The tension is high, the energy is electric, and suddenly, hunger strikes. Cooking for friends will take forever. Maiz Mexican Kitchen's guacamole, crisp salads, and tacos or veggie bowls with assorted vegetables and protein-rich beans could help to watch the match and the waist.
Woodside Burger Shop
Woodside Burger Shop’s burgers are handmade. Whether you're craving a classic burger or want to try something totally wild, it's a safe call.
The Pantry - Guilt Free Goodness
Keeping an eye on your figure but still dreaming of a winning feast? Fear not, because The Pantry's menu is jam-packed with a range of nutritious dishes, catering to different dietary preference.
Nashville Fried Chicken
Nashville Fried Chicken claims its fried chicken is the most "fiery, saucy, and crispy" fried chicken experience in Mumbai. Plus, fried chicken is the perfect crowd-pleaser, especially if your friends are fussy eaters.
Aglio Pizzeria & Deli
For New York-style pizzas and deli delights, Aglio has classic comfort food as well as fancier options.
Things to consider when ordering in for IPL party
Often, the host of a party gets bogged down with duties like feeding guests and making sure they're comfortable. Ordering the right kind of food can help cut some of the fat from this. Consider these tips:
1. Food that can be shared, passed around, doesn't require reheating is obviously a good idea for an uninterrupted 2 hours of match viewing. Consider tacos, salads, guacamole and chips.
2. Most IPL matches are scheduled around dinner time. If you and your friends are okay with a binge-day (and not dealing with lifestyle conditions like diabetes and hypertension) consider foods like pizzas, burgers, fried chicken that are crowd-pleasers as well as being filling.
3. If cutlery is too much to deal with when emotions are running high, consider food wraps, falafel or rolls that often come in eat-on-the-go packaging - precluding the need for any utensils. Chuck the wrappings in a bin (lined, of course), and there's less mess to clean up the next day.
4. Make sure to stock up on drinks: lots of water, soda... beer. All that salt - and screaming with excitement - is bound to make everyone thirsty.
