Manish Malhotra on designing for Beyoncé: ‘It has been an incredible experience’

Manish Malhotra, whose designs are celebrated across the globe, has added another feather to his cap by dressing Beyoncé for the closing show of the Cowboy Carter Tour in Paris.

While the show took place a few weeks ago, Manish recently took to Instagram to reflect on the iconic fashion moment.

He wrote, “Designing for @beyonce’s Cowboy Carter Tour — creating her custom sequin chaps and bodysuit, along with chaps for her spectacular dance crew — has been an incredible experience. The closing show in Paris, with Beyoncé and @jayz on stage together, was such a powerful and unforgettable iconic moment. To see Indian design at the forefront of a global pop culture celebration like this is truly special. Happy to be part of this moment of music and fashion.”

Speaking of Beyoncé’s outfit, she stunned in a bold black bodysuit encrusted with crystals. And if that wasn’t enough, it was teamed with with cowboy-style chaps intricately hand-embroidered with sequins and over 10,000 Swarovski crystals. Because if it’s Manish, it has to be a glamorous extravaganza.

Her look not only celebrated Indian craftsmanship on the global stage but also reflected Manish’s forward-looking aesthetic. This special moment won praise from celebrities close to the designer, and of course, fans of his work.

Many celebrities showered him with praise, including close friend Karan Johar. Amruta Khanvilkar, Rasha Thadani, Mindy Kaling, and Tanisha Mukerji were among others who hailed him as “iconic.” Fans joined in as well.
