Today’s ring trends are moving away from heavy, ornate styles toward designs that feel sculptural, modern and effortlessly elegant. For weddings, holiday celebrations and special occasions, the goal is no longer simply to wear the biggest diamond in the room but to choose pieces that shine while still feeling refined.

For Spring–Summer 2026, contemporary ring designs are offering a fresh take on luxury.

The modern statement ring

The new generation of rings is defined by clean lines and thoughtful design. Instead of bulky settings, designers are focusing on streamlined silhouettes where the diamonds appear almost suspended on the band. Continuous rows of stones, minimal prongs and architectural shapes allow the light to move through the ring, creating brilliance without heaviness.

The East–West orientation, where the diamond is set horizontally rather than vertically, is currently one of the most striking trends for red carpet and occasion wear. Vaibhav Karnavat, Founder of House of Quadri, tells Moneycontrol, “This Spring–Summer, we are seeing the East-West rings taking centerstage. Ovals and marquise cuts are the top picks, followed by the architectural lines of emerald and radiant cuts. For colour palette, yellow gold is the season’s favorite, with rose gold trailing as a romantic second. And, the Toi-et-Moi silhouette remains a staple, now evolved through asymmetrical pairings like a pear with an oval or two nesting pears.”

The rise of eternity bands

For those who prefer a lighter approach to festive jewellery, eternity bands are emerging as one of the season’s most stylish choices. Set with diamonds all around the band, these rings create a continuous shimmer that catches the light with every movement.

They are particularly popular for stacking. Wearing two or three slim eternity bands together creates a layered look that feels luxurious yet modern. Mixing metals is another growing trend. Pairing yellow gold with rose gold, for instance, adds dimension and makes the stack feel curated rather than uniform.

Choosing the right solitaire

For many people, festive occasions and weddings are also a time to invest in a meaningful piece of jewellery. When selecting a solitaire ring, experts suggest focusing not only on size but also on the balance between brilliance and design.

A thoughtfully designed setting can make even a modest carat weight appear striking. Karnavat advises paying attention to how the diamond interacts with light. In a solitaire, the stone is fully exposed. Rather than paying for “flawless” ratings, choose VVS (Very Very Slight Inclusion) or VS (Very Slight) inclusion stones where inclusions are invisible to the naked eye.

He explains, “This allows you to maximize your budget for a higher colour grade or larger carat weight. On the other hand, the cut determines a diamond’s brilliance. While Round Brilliants are the gold standard for classic elegance, ovals and marquise cuts offer a sophisticated, elongated look; especially when set in the trending east-west orientation. A 4-prong setting allows maximum light to enter the stone, making it appear larger, while a tapered band draws the eye directly to the diamond for a delicate, refined silhouette."
