The wedding season is here, and it is that time of the year when the focus shifts to the brides-to-be. While they might find themselves amidst all the prep for their D-day, Dr. Geetika Mittal Gupta, a Delhi-based dermatologist, shared useful tips on Instagram to help them prep their skin for long-lasting makeup.
“Brides-to-be, your makeup only looks as good as the skin underneath, and the prep you do before the big day. Today’s tips are all about what to carry, how to choose the right base, and the little things that make your MUA’s job easier (and your photos flawless),” she wrote.
Hacks for long-lasting makeup
Foundation: If you want your foundation to last longer, Dr. Geetika suggested applying a thin layer with a damp sponge and leaving a gap before adding another layer. She said, “Don’t use big blobs of foundation right away. Make sure you use thin layers of makeup and maybe do it twice.”
“Use a sponge that has been dipped into some essence, toner, rose water, or just water, and dab it in. Give gaps so that the product goes inside the skin nicely,” she added.
Lipstick: For the lipstick to last longer, she highly recommended exfoliating your lips and removing the exfoliant before applying Vaseline.
How does a lip liner help? According to the dermatologist, the lip liner helps prevent bleeding of the lipstick and keeps it contained. Additionally, it also gives you the shape you want.
She added, “When you’re using lipstick, make sure you also put the powder and the tissue so that you can help that set better and last longer.”
Blush: To make the blush last longer, Dr. Geetika advised using cream blush prior to powder blush.
