BSSC Increases 2nd Inter Level Recruitment Vacancies to 24,492; Apply by January 15

BSSC has raised 2nd Inter Level Recruitment vacancies to 24,492 and extended the application deadline to January 15, 2026. Eligible candidates can apply online through the official portal.

The Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) has increased the number of vacancies for the 2nd Inter Level Recruitment 2025. The recruitment drive, which earlier had 23,175 posts, will now fill a total of 24,492 positions. This means 1,317 additional vacancies have been added, giving more candidates a chance to apply.

Along with the increase in vacancies, BSSC has also extended the application deadline. Candidates can now submit their online applications till January 15, 2026, while the last date to pay the application fee is January 13, 2026. Those who could not apply earlier can still complete the process through the official BSSC website.

Out of the total 24,492 vacancies, 10,753 posts are unreserved. The remaining posts are reserved for various categories. This includes 3,407 posts for Scheduled Castes (SC), 231 for Scheduled Tribes (ST), 4,185 for Extremely Backward Classes (EBC), 2,678 for Backward Classes (BC), 811 for Backward Class women, and 2,427 for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS). In addition, 7,816 posts are reserved for women under the 35 per cent horizontal reservation policy.

Eligibility and Selection Process

Candidates applying for the BSSC 2nd Inter Level Recruitment must have passed Class 12 (Intermediate) from a recognised board. For certain posts, candidates are also required to have computer typing skills along with the Intermediate qualification.

The selection process includes three stages: a preliminary examination, a main examination, and a skill test where applicable. The preliminary exam will be an objective-type test with 150 questions from General Studies, General Science, Mathematics, and Mental Ability. The exam duration is 2 hours and 15 minutes. One mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

The minimum qualifying marks are 40 per cent for General category, 36.5 per cent for BC, 34 per cent for MBC, and 32 per cent for SC/ST candidates. If the examination is held in multiple shifts, results will be prepared using the normalisation method. Candidates equal to five times the number of vacancies will be shortlisted for the main examination.
