Shares of smallcap Godawari Power and Ispat Ltd rose in early trade on Thursday after the company announced an equity infusion of Rs 50 crore into its wholly owned subsidiary, Godawari New Energy Private Limited. The investment was made through the allotment of 5 crore equity shares of Rs 10 each on a rights basis, in line with the companys previously approved capital commitment. The company had earlier said it plans to invest up to Rs 200 crore in Godawari New Energy Private Limited to meet capital expenditure and working capital needs. The funds will be utilised for developing a 20 GWh Battery Energy Storage System plant in the first phase, as part of its foray into the clean energy and battery storage segment. View more
