All abdominal fat is not just about how you look but is also linked to a higher risk of heart disease, diabetes and even some cancers. While a healthy and balanced diet is critical in any lifestyle and weight loss programme, you should also look at including a few drinks that offer a healthy boost to metabolism, while quenching our thirst.

Many of these fat burning drinks can be made with common ingredients you already have in your home, and they also taste so good you will want to include them in your everyday morning routine.

7 healthy drinks to burn belly fat

  • Lemon and Warm Water

Lemon water promotes digestion, reestablishes pH balance, and boosts metabolic process. Ideally, you should take it on an empty stomach in the morning.
  • Green Tea with Mint

One of the benefits of green tea is that it contains catechins, which are antioxidants. Include mint  in it to boost taste and digestion. It also helps ease bloating.
  • Cucumber and Mint Detox Water

This refreshing brew hydrates and has a detoxifying effect. Cucumber also has little carb and is high on fibre. Mint's addition gives the drink a refreshing taste and boots its digestive effects.

  • Apple Cider Vinegar Drink

Dissolve 1–2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar in warm water along with a little honey. It is effective in blood sugar and appetite control when taken before meals.
  • Ginger and Lemon Tea

Lemon is high in vitamin c which helps increase fat oxidation. Ginger in the drink increases oxygen flow and helps improve digestion as well. This drink is perfect for any time of the day or even before going to bed.
  • Cinnamon and Honey Water

Cinnamon helps prevent too much fat from being stored in the body. It adds sweetness in the natural way and can speed up metabolism. Serve it warm, right before going to sleep in the night.
  • Watermelon and Basil Smoothie

Low-calorie high-water ingredients like watermelon, and a flavouring herb like basil, which is loaded with antioxidants, help burn belly fat. Blend it for a healthy, sweet and belly-friendly option.
