Weight loss is on most people’s end-of-year resolutions. But why wait than begin now? Fitness coach Raj Ganpath took to his Instagram to motivate people to end the year stronger and fitter. And if you’re wondering how, he shared 5 effective ways to avoid gaining weight in the next 6 weeks. He said that’s all you need to feel and look good by the end of the year.

5 simple actions to avoid gaining weight
Increase frequency of exercise: A workout is non-negotiable when it comes to staying on track. “Exercise at least 20 times between now and the end of the year. That means a little more than three times a week. Maybe you’re doing more, maybe you’re doing less, but figure it out. Make the 20 times happen. It’s just six weeks,” he said.
Walk at least 8,000 steps: He said that while the ideal goal is 10,000 steps a day, the minimum should be at least 8,000 every day. It is not necessary to do it in one go; you can sneak movement throughout the day. It doesn’t matter how you achieve the target, what’s important is reaching the goal.
Include proteins and veggies in every meal: When it comes to weight management, diet plays an important role. “Make sure there is some form of protein and vegetables. It can be any protein, any vegetable, only restriction: Make sure it’s not oily, fried, creamy, or rich.”
Avoid overeating: To avoid gaining weight, the simple rule is to avoid overeating, no matter what, where, or when you are eating. He further suggested slightly undereating, but if that’s not possible, eat to satiety but never to fullness. This will help keep your calorie count in check.
