Popular Kannada actor Yash, known for his role in KGF, is all set to star in the upcoming action thriller titled Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups. The film is directed by Geetu Mohandas and is currently in the production phase. It is being shot in both Kannada and English, aiming to appeal to a global audience.

Director Geetu Mohandas shared that Toxic is designed to tell a story that crosses language and cultural barriers. She emphasized that the team has worked hard to capture the essence of both Kannada and English, making the experience authentic for a wide range of viewers. The movie blends artistic storytelling with commercial cinema, ensuring a gripping narrative.

A Story Set in Goa’s Underworld

The plot of Toxic revolves around a drug cartel in Goa and explores themes of power and morality. Yash plays the lead role, and the film promises high-intensity action sequences.

The cast is filled with big names from the film industry. Kiara Advani plays Yash’s love interest, while Nayanthara portrays his sister. The film’s main antagonist is played by Huma Qureshi. Akshay Oberoi also joins the project, marking his debut in Kannada cinema.

Hollywood-Level Action and Visual Effects

Toxic is being made with international standards in mind. The action sequences are choreographed by JJ Perry, known for his work on John Wick and Fast & Furious. The film’s visual effects are being handled by DNEG, the BAFTA-winning team behind Dune: Part Two.

The film will be dubbed in multiple languages, including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam, ensuring a wider reach. This move aims to replicate the pan-India success of films like KGF and Pushpa.

Teaser and Expected Release Date

A teaser titled Birthday Peek was released on Yash’s birthday, offering fans a glimpse into the dark and intense world of Toxic. The teaser features Yash in a club, confidently walking through a gritty setting. It is a dialogue-free clip, enhanced by background music composed by London-based musician Jeremy Stack.

While the initial release date was set for April 10, 2025, reports suggest that delays are expected. The filmmakers have not yet announced a revised date, but fans eagerly await further updates.

With its gripping storyline, stellar cast, and top-notch production, Toxic is shaping up to be a major cinematic event.
