Saiyaara director Mohit Suri is in news right now all thanks to his superhit movie starring newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda. While everyone is celebrating the success of Saiyaara, Mohit's wife Udita Goswami had also shared pics of some fun at their home.
This piqued the interest of the netizens about who Udita Goswami is. She is a former model and actress and stepped into Bollywood at a time when newcomers were often typecast.
Yet, Udita managed to make her mark with a mix of bold roles and understated presence. Today, Udita is far away from the hustle of film sets; she has found comfort in family, and a life away from the limelight.
From modelling to movies
Born on February 9, 1984, in Dehradun, Udita began her career as a model. Her striking looks and natural ease in front of the camera made her a familiar face in advertisements for brands like Pepsi and Titan. But she then switched to acting and got her first big break in 2003.
She was spotted by filmmaker Pooja Bhatt, who cast her opposite John Abraham in Paap. The film didn't set the box office on fire, but Udita's presence caught the attention of audiences and filmmakers alike.
Post Paap, Udita did a series of films where she played lead roles in thrillers and romantic movies. Zeher (2005) opposite Emraan Hashmi and Aksar (2006) with Dino Morea were commercial hits.
However, as the years passed, she gradually drifted away from movies and her last project, Diary of a Butterfly (2012), didn’t create the same impact.
Meeting the love of her life - Mohit Suri
Around the same time, her personal life was going through a meaningful shift. Udita had been in a steady relationship with director Mohit Suri, best known for films like Awarapan, Murder 2, and later Ek Villain.
The two had met while working on Zeher and dated for several years. After many ups and downs, the couple tied the knot in 2013 in a private ceremony in Mumbai. They have two children - a daughter born in 2015 and a son in 2018.

Post-marriage, Udita decided to stay away from movies and instead has found a new creative outlet: music.
She trained as a DJ and began performing at private gigs and curated events. Her shift from films to DJing surprised many, but for Udita, it was a natural extension of her love for rhythm and sound.
Related to Bhatts
Being married to Mohit Suri also connects her to one of Bollywood’s most influential film families - the Bhatts. Mohit is the cousin of famous actors Alia Bhatt and Emraan Hashmi. Udita is the sister-in-law of Alia Bhatt and Emraan Hashmi.
Though she doesn’t appear in public often, she shares a close bond with family members, including Alia.
On social media, she occasionally shares glimpses of their family life, or moments from Mohit’s film projects, such as the recent buzz around his film Saiyaara.
Interestingly, despite having worked with some of the leading men of her time, John Abraham, Emraan Hashmi, Dino Morea - Udita was never caught up in industry gossip or high-profile link-ups. Her image was always that of someone grounded, focused, and private.
Nowadays, Udita Goswami lives a life far removed from limelight. She balances motherhood, music, and marriage with grace.
