Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, Yash's upcoming gangster drama, is generating more and more buzz every day. The film is presently in production and has been making waves on social media in anticipation of its March 19, 2026, release date. Rumour has it that actress Rukmini Vasanth has been cast in a major role, which heightens the excitement.
An old 2019 video of Toxic director Geetu Mohandas, in which she talked openly about her unorthodox filmmaking style, has resurfaced online amid the casting rumours. Mohandas, who is well-known for Moothon, acknowledged that she doesn't rely on strict frameworks and called her process "crazy and erratic." "I never follow the plan. You won't get the movie you read, I even tell my producers.
"There is no bound script," she clarified, emphasising her instinctive style in which characters develop organically as the plot progresses.
Rukmini Vasanth, meanwhile, is enjoying a career high thanks to her numerous high-profile projects. After her Tamil debut opposite Vijay Sethupathi in Ace, she is set to appear in AR Murugadoss’ Madharasi alongside Sivakarthikeyan. She also has a significant part in Rishab Shetty's Kantara: Chapter 1, and she is rumoured to be the lead actress in Prashanth Neel's eagerly awaited movie Dragon, which co-stars Jr. NTR.

In addition to Yash, the ensemble cast features important roles from Akshay Oberoi, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi, Darell D'Silva, Nayanthara, and Kiara Advani (presumably as the romantic lead). In keeping with its scope and ambition, the film's original April 2025 release date was moved to coincide with Ugadi 2026.
Toxic is forming into one of the most distinctive and ambitious films in Indian cinema, with Yash working closely with Geetu Mohandas on the screenplay.
