Shah Rukh Khan, known worldwide for his charm and versatility, is also deeply rooted in his emotions and family values. While he owns several luxurious properties across the globe, the place that gives him the most peace is not a lavish mansion but a humble grave in Delhi — the resting place of his parents.
In an old interview, Shah Rukh shared, “Jab bhi main Dilli ke liye nikalta hoon toh mere dil mein khyaal aata hai ki meri ammi aur mere abbu yahan hain. Main unse milne ke liye unki kabr par pahunch jaata hoon.” This deep connection with his roots shows a different, more vulnerable side of King Khan that fans rarely see.
Shah Rukh lost his father, Meer Taj Mohammed Khan, when he was still in college. His father, a freedom fighter and a civil engineer, passed away due to cancer. Later in 1990, his mother Lateef Fatima also passed away. Since then, Shah Rukh often visits their grave in Delhi to offer prayers and connect with his memories.
In a more recent viral video, Shah Rukh is seen performing sajda at the graves of his parents. The moment was emotional for his fans, and social media was flooded with heartfelt reactions. Many commented on how grounded and loving he is despite being a global superstar.

Shah Rukh has said in another interview, “Main jab bhi Delhi aata hoon, purani yaadein taza ho jaati hain. Pehle main jaake meri ammi ki kabr par dua padhta hoon. Main raat ko jaata hoon… mujhe yaad hai meri ammi kehti thi ki main Dilip Kumar ji jaisa lagta hoon.”
Though many now call him a true Mumbaikar, Shah Rukh firmly believes that Delhi can never leave him — because, as he says, “Mere abbu-ammi yahaan hain.”
