Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan were once enemies

Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan have been in the entertainment industry for more than three decades. The actors have also been involved in public spats over the years. Aamir and Shah Rukh have now left their past feuds behind and started a new friendship.

However, there was a time when both actors threw some serious shade at each other. While promoting his blockbuster film 3 Idiots, Aamir used to disguise himself and travel to different cities in India.

Shah Rukh slammed the actor’s promotional stunt, calling the gimmick “chhichhorapan”. Shah Rukh Khan said at the time, “Ye ek kisam ka chhichhorapan lagta hai (This seems like a kind of frivolity).”

However, King Khan also noted that these kinds of promotional stunts don’t suit Mr. Perfectionist, and he would never follow such a type of marketing strategy.

Aamir gives a befitting reply to Shah Rukh Khan

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan didn’t sit back following Shah Rukh Khan’s comment and came back with a hard-hitting reply.

The actor addressed the remark during a throwback interview with ABP News and noted that SRK himself does so much chhichhorapan in his life.

He noted, “Jaha tak baat hai chhichhorapan ki, toh woh (Shah Rukh) jyada jaante honge iss chiz ke baare mein kyuki woh khud kaafi chhichhorapan karte hai apni zindagi mein. Woh expert hai inn sab mein (As far as frivolity is concerned, he would know more about this thing because he himself does a lot of childishness in his life. He is an expert in all these).”

A look at Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan’s feud

Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan have been frequently involved in a controversial feud during the late 90s and early 2000s. The tension between the duo rose in the late 2000s when Aamir made a controversial blog post referring to his dog as "Shah Rukh," which SRK responded to with sarcasm.

Over the years, both stars took subtle digs at each other, with Aamir questioning the credibility of the awards SRK frequently won. Meanwhile, SRK commented on Aamir’s selective film choices.

Despite their rivalries, the duo’s friendship took a turn in 2016 when they took a selfie together at a party. In 2023, Aamir publicly congratulated SRK on the success of Pathaan. Aamir and SRK now share a relationship of mutual respect, with leaving the feud in the past.

For the unversed, Rajkumar Hirani’s 3 idiots starring Aamir Khan, Boman Irani, Kareena Kapoor, R. Madhavan, and Sharman Joshi, was a huge hit and still one of the fans’ favourite films. The film is inspired by the real-life engineer, climate activist and education reformer, Sonam Wangchuk.
