Sanjay Dutt had 300 girlfriends

Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt frequently remained in controversy over his relationships in his early days of success, which were also documented in his biopic, Sanju.

However, the actor reportedly had 300 girlfriends, and director Rajkumar Hirani once revealed how the actor managed to date them.

During a 2018 interview with India Today, Rajkumar Hirani reflected on Sanjay Dutt's past and revealed that the actor would often take women to a random grave, claiming it was his mother's, to make them feel special and emotional.

Hirani said, "He would start dating a girl and take her to this graveyard. He would say, 'I have brought you here to meet my mother.' After this unusual meeting, the girl would feel emotionally attached to Sanju. The reality was that the grave was not his mother's."

The film 'Sanju' revealed Sanjay Dutt's astonishing number of over 300 girlfriends. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani and starring Ranbir Kapoor, the movie earned over Rs 500 crores and became one of Bollywood's biggest hits, based on Dutt's life story.

During the promotion of the film, Ranbir was asked if he would disclose his count. However, the actor revealed that it would be embarrassing as his number of girlfriends is much lower.

He shared, "No... I actually won't allow. I don't think I am a courageous man like Sanju sir to give my life out so openly. But my count has been less than ten, so people can't make a biopic on me."

Sanjay Dutt’s wedding

After witnessing several ups and downs in his life, Sanjay Dutt decided to settle down with his partner, Maanayata Dutt, after dating her for two years. The couple tied the knot in February 2008. They registered their marriage in Goa and later had a Hindu ceremony in Mumbai.

Sanjay and Maanayata welcomed twins, Shahraan and Iqra, in 2010. Maanayata has been a pillar of support to Sanjay during his difficult times, including his jail time in 2013.

However, Maanayata is Sanjay’s third wife. The actor was previously married to actress Richa Sharma in 1987. They married in the US and had a daughter named Trishala Dutt. Tragically, Richa was diagnosed with a brain tumour and passed away in 1996.

Sanjay then married air-hostess-turned-model Rhea Pillai, and they got married on February 14, 1998. However, the former couple got divorced in 2008.
