Nora Fatehi once spoke about paparazzi culture and objectification; her comments sparked a debate. But now, following the backlash around her song Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke, those statements have resurfaced, this time fueling fresh conversations on Reddit.
The song, featuring Nora alongside Sanjay Dutt, has been widely criticised for its allegedly vulgar lyrics and suggestive choreography. While a section of viewers praised her performance, a large number of social media users slammed the track, calling it “cheap” and inappropriate.
Amid this controversy, Reddit users began revisiting Nora’s earlier remarks about being objectified by the paparazzi. In past interviews, she had pointed out how cameras often zoom into specific body parts, adding that such content is amplified by social media algorithms that reward clicks over sensitivity.
However, the internet appears divided. On Reddit, some users called out what they perceived as a contradiction between her statements and the kind of songs she features in.

“Ya if she's benefitting from objectification of woman, why would she want feminism,” one user wrote. “She said that for her conservative middle Eastern audience.. They were praising her alot in the comment section,” added another user.
“I think it’s us who should be blamed.. we should stop watching.. don’t give them views,” wrote another defending her.
“Literally because of these movies or songs , people's minds are getting polluted, this song is more less a porn .. songs should have regulations too. Many good movies are banned but these kind of songs get famous,” added another user.
“Such a vulgar song the lyrics are absolutely hideous. I wonder why Nora even got agreed to do this bullshit song,” wrote one user.
Earlier during one interview, Nora had explained that the paparazzi do not do this with her alone but with all female celebrities. Nora had explained that such content is promoted by the algorithms of social media. The more clicks the content receives, the more it is promoted.
“I guess they’ve never seen a bu*t like that before. It is what it is. The media doesn’t just do it to me but to other female actors also. Maybe they don’t zoom into their bu*t because it’s not exciting but they zoom into their other body parts unnecessarily. Sometimes, I think that there’s nothing to zoom into, so what are they focusing on?” Nora told News18 Showsha.
