Nayanthara and Trisha reportedly are feuding for a long time

Tamil cinema has a history of legendary rivalries, not only between male stars like MGR, Sivaji, and Rajinikanth-Kamal Haasan but also among female actors. Actresses such as Simran and Jyotika, and more recently Trisha and Nayanthara, have been at the center of these rivalries.

Although both Trisha and Nayanthara have maintained successful careers, their past rivalry was highly publicized, even being humorously referenced in a Vadivelu comedy scene.

However, Nayanthara had previously acknowledged her rivalry with Trisha during a 2000s interview with Vijay TV.

What did Nayanthara say about her rivalry with Trisha?

When asked about her relationship with Trisha and Shriya Saran, Nayanthara said, “Friends is such a big word to use flippantly. I am not friends with Trisha… we are acquaintances. There does seem to be problems between us, and it is almost like the age-old belief that women don’t gel with other women. But honestly, I have no problems with her or anyone.

What happened between Nayanthara and Trisha?

Nayanthara and Trisha’s feud often leave fans wondering what actually transpired. Although neither of the actresses have publicly addressed the reason, there were reports of a misunderstanding between them.

Trisha and Nayanthara were allegedly at odds over the Tamil film Kuruvi, as both actresses were initially in talks for the lead role. Ultimately, Trisha secured the part. Soon after that, rumors of a professional feud circulated, with Trisha debunking these claims in an interview with Indiaglitz.

Trisha clarified that Nayanthara's long-standing career, spanning over a decade, had been damaged by media-fabricated issues between them. While acknowledging a minor, personal disagreement rooted in mutual friends, Trisha emphasized that it was unrelated to professional rivalry.

However, she did admit that they had briefly stopped communicating, but never had a heated argument.

Nayanthara opens up about rivalries with her female co-stars

Nayanthara has previously revealed that she typically maintains a professional dynamic with her female co-stars. However, she shared a specific instance where she had gotten along with Namitha during the filming of Billa, but later, things between the two turned sour.

She said, “Honestly, in the first few days, we didn’t have any problems, and we used to speak normally. All of a sudden, one fine day, she stopped talking to me. In fact, if we were all in a group, she would say a hi to everyone but me. There was no fight or argument, but when it happens suddenly, I felt it too. If they have a problem, it is their problem.”
