Actress and former Miss World, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been ruling the Bollywood for more than two decades. She started her career as a model and won the Miss World pageant in 1994. Aishwarya transitioned her career to acting, making her film debut in 1997 with the Tamil film Iruvar.
Known for films like Devdas, Dhoom 2, and Jodhaa Akbar, Aishwarya once revealed in an old interview that she once received a legal notice over a kissing scene in Dhoom 2.
In a 2012 interview, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan revealed that she received a legal notice for a kissing scene with Hrithik Roshan in Dhoom 2.
Aishwarya recalled that she received legal notices from some people in the country after her prominent role in the movie Dhoom, with some individuals expressing discomfort with her on-screen actions, citing her as an iconic example for young girls.
She said, “I actually got a couple of notices, legal notices, from some people in the country turning around and saying, ‘You are iconic, you’re an example to our girls you have led your life in such an exemplary manner, they’re not comfortable with you doing this on screen so why did you?’”
She admitted to being left surprised at being asked to explain a brief scene in a film, stating that she was merely doing her job as an actor.

Aishwarya Rai rejects scripts because of physical scenes
Aishwarya Rai is one of the most versatile actors in Indian cinema. However, she is also a global sensation with her frequent stunning Cannes red carpet appearance. The actress has notably starred in some of the Hollywood films, including Bride & Prejudice and Provoked among others.
However, the legal notice forced the actress to reject some of the scripts that included physical scenes. She insisted that she had never done such scenes on screen before and was uncomfortable.
The actress said, “It was around the same time that the interest in the western world from Hollywood, or European cinema, English cinema, from the industry there was a lot interest in me and the possibility of me working overseas, and I had already declined a couple of scripts purely on the basis of not being comfortable with the very physical scenes and the kissing because I’d never done that on screen and I just wasn’t very comfortable with the idea.”
For the unversed, Aishwarya Rai rose to stardom with her role in the hit film Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam alongside Salman Khan. The actress has since appeared in numerous successful films, including Devdas (2002), Dhoom 2 (2006), and Jodhaa Akbar (2008).
Aishwarya Rai has also received several awards and nominations for her performances, solidifying her position as one of Bollywood's leading actresses. She has taken a hiatus from the last few years to focus on her personal life. She was last seen in the 2023 Tamil film, Ponniyin Selvan: 1 and 2.
Aishwarya is speculated to star in Anurag Kashyap’s directorial upcoming film, Gulab Jamun, alongside her husband, Abhishek Bachchan.
