The charity concert Le Gala des Pièces Jaunes in Paris was meant to be a prestigious evening celebrating global icons and supporting a charitable cause, but it left BTS’ J-Hope fans questioning the event's professionalism. Despite delivering a fiery opening performance, J-Hope’s contributions were overshadowed by what many ARMYs perceived as glaring oversights and disrespectful treatment.
Fans noticed that J-Hope's name was repeatedly left out of performance rundowns, despite being the opening act and a major draw for the event. During his set, the LED wristbands, designed to change colours to match the artist’s vibe, stayed static — a stark contrast to the dynamic shifts seen during performances by other artists.
The event's live coverage on TikTok also frustrated fans, with the host allegedly ignoring J-Hope's supporters in favour of other groups’ fans. One viewer noted the host seemed “annoyed” when J-Hope’s name was mentioned.
Social media erupted with criticism. Fans pointed out that J-Hope’s solo set, which included hits like On The Street and BTS’s MIC Drop, played a key role in filling the venue but wasn’t given the recognition it deserved.
One fan tweeted, “How do you ignore the artist who opened the show and filled 70% of your seats?” Others accused the organisers of bias and unprofessionalism, with some questioning whether the omissions were deliberate.
Meanwhile, BTS fans worldwide are gearing up for an epic celebration as the countdown to the group’s much-anticipated OT7 reunion begins. In just 149 days, the global K-pop sensations—RM, V, Jimin, Jungkook, Jin, Suga, and J-Hope—will reunite, marking their comeback in 2025 after completing their mandatory military service.
