Vijay Deverakonda recently turned 36 and sent his fans into a frenzy with the announcement of his new film, VD14. However, the actor wanted to do something more powerful to express gratitude to the Indian Armed Forces.
The actor will donate a part of his RWDY sales to support the Indian Armed Forces over the next few weeks. He took to his Instagram to announce his initiative with a video.
The video revealed that he continued his birthday tradition of the Deverakonda Birthday Truck, distributing free ice cream in Hyderabad and surrounding areas to bring smiles and relief from the summer heat.
He wrote in the caption, “This year, @thedeverakonda 's birthday isn't just about celebration. It's about spreading a little joy - if you spot the Deverakonda Birthday Truck in your city, walk up and grab a free ice cream.”
The actor added, “But in times like these, we understand it's our responsibility to give back to the nation who has given us everything. For the next few weeks, a portion of all RWDY proceeds will be dedicated to the Indian Armed Forces."
He concluded the caption by writing, “NOT JUST MADE IN INDIA, MADE FOR INDIA. For the next few weeks, a portion of all RWDY sales will be dedicated to the Indian Armed Forces. Jai Hind. Yours, Vijay."
Besides this, the actor announced his new projects, VD14, a period action drama and SVC 59. Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, VD14 is jointly produced by Mythri Movie Makers and T-Series.
Vijay also revealed the first-look poster of the film. The poster featured the actor in a meditative yet intense avatar.
Meanwhile, SVC 59 will be produced under the Sri Venkateswara Creations banner. The raw and fiery poster suggested the actor will deliver another powerful and transformative performance.
