The reason behind this change is that the shooting for the movie is still ongoing and will continue until March 2025.
A source close to Bollywood Hungama confirmed that the delay is due to the decision by the filmmakers to add more fun elements to the story. Director Shashank Khaitan and producer Karan Johar believe there is room to make the film even more enjoyable for the audience. As part of this plan, a new filming schedule has been added, focusing on destination wedding moments. This schedule will involve the entire cast, including Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor. By adding these new elements, the filmmakers hope to enhance the film and create a more engaging experience for viewers.
There is still about 25 days of filming left. Apart from completing some crucial scenes, two songs are also planned to be shot. This extra work is the main reason for the delay in the film's release. As of now, the movie is expected to hit the theaters in the second half of 2025.
Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari was announced earlier this year, and it will be Varun and Janhvi's second collaboration after their 2023 film Bawaal, directed by Nitesh Tiwari. The rom-com is produced by Karan Johar, Hiroo Yash Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Shashank Khaitan. With Karan Johar known for his expertise in the romantic comedy genre, fans are excited about what the film will offer once it finally releases.
