Actress Disha Patani's family recently faced a scare after the firing incident outside their Bareilly residence. Following the incident, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath personally called Disha’s father, Jagdish Singh Patani, late on Sunday night, September 14, to express his condolences and extend his full support to the family.
According to report by India Today, Jagdish confirmed receiving the call. He said the Chief Minister assured him that the state would provide complete security and that there would be no negligence in the investigation.
Disha’s father stated, "Late at night, I received a call from the Honorable Chief Minister. He offered his condolences to my entire family and said that the whole state stands with us. The Chief Minister assured that there will be no negligence whatsoever in ensuring our security."
The Patani family, still shaken by the incident, recalled how the attack unfolded. Jagdish told ANI that around 4:30 am on Friday, 8–10 shots were fired at their Civil Lines residence.
He mentioned that the bullets appeared to be foreign-made and that two men on a motorcycle carried out the attack. They fled within minutes, using the Delhi–Lucknow highway to escape. Initial investigations have revealed that the attackers had conducted a recce of the Patani residence before opening fire. Soon after, the Goldy Brar gang claimed responsibility, indicating that the firing was planned.
