Shreya Ghoshal kicks off filming for Indian Idol Season 16, see first glimpse

Singer Shreya Ghoshal will soon return to the judge’s chair of Indian Idol Season 16. The singer has officially confirmed her return in her latest social media post.

Shreya took to her Instagram Story and teased that she has kicked off the filming of the upcoming season of Indian Idol. She shared a photo from the set of the reality singing show, creating a buzz among the fans.

The photo featured Shreya’s hand with painted fingernails resting on a desk with a microphone and a pair of headphones. The "Indian Idol" logo is displayed on a black mug as well as onto the floor of a stage with a grand piano in the background.

She shared the post with ‘A Fusion In Ra…’ by Paras Nath set in the background. Shreya has been a judge on the show Indian Idol, alongside Vishal Dadlani and Kumar Sanu, for years. However, other judges’ return is yet to be confirmed.

Indian Idol Season 16 will soon premiere on Sony Entertainment Television and Sony Liv. The auditions of the show reportedly wrapped up in August 2025.

Shreya Ghoshal concluded her All Hearts Tour in July 2025. The singer performed in Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Indore, Surat, and Mumbai during its India leg. The India-Pakistan conflict postponed a few gigs of the singer’s tour.

Notably, the singer's emotional performance of AR Rahman's classic song, Maa Tujhe Salaam, during the Mumbai performance also served as a heartfelt homage to the Indian military. While speaking to the audience, she became obviously emotional, which caused many people to cry and think deeply.

Recently, Shreya and singer Harnoor worked together on the romantic song Koi Na, which was featured in the movie Bhool Chuk Maaf and starred Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi. She also released her new song ‘LeLo.’
