Ashish Chanchlani, who recently made his directorial debut with Ekaki, has been selected as the only person from India to introduce Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day teaser.
Tom Holland, the movie's lead actor, expressed his appreciation and thanked the YouTuber for assisting in the release of the movie's trailer in India. Ashish replied and posted the video to his social network.
Ashish took to his Instagram and shared the Video of Holland thanking Ashish. Holland said in the video, “Hey Ashish, it's Tom Holland here. Firstly, thank you so much for spreading the love and thank you for helping us launch our Spider-Man Brand New Day trailer.”
Ashish accompanied the video with the caption, “You're welcome tom, It was an honour to represent India in launching the trailer cant wait to watch."
With Ekaki, Ashish Chanchlani has also ventured into an area that few Indian digital performers have ventured into. The breadth of the imagery, the shift from horror to alien concepts, and the bold narrative choices have all impressed viewers and critics.
The response has been equally remarkable. With more than one crore views in a single day, Chapter 5 became one of the most-watched long-format films on YouTube. A notable achievement for a first-time director, the show was at one point the second most popular Indian show on IMDb.
The latest instalment in the Spider-Man franchise will also feature Zendaya as MJ and his best friend Ned Leeds, played by Jacob Batalon.
The film also stars Sadie Sink, Liza Colon-Zayas, Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo and Michael Mando, among others.
Additionally, Brand New Day is a prelude to the eagerly awaited Avengers: Doomsday, which will be released in December. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who also directed Marvel's Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, the MCU Phase Six title marks Holland's last contracted stand-alone Spider-Man movie.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is released on July 31.
