Exciting news for Spider-Man fans—Spider-Man 4 starring Tom Holland has been delayed, with the makers unveiling a revised release date.
The much-anticipated Marvel superhero film is now set to hit theaters on July 31, 2026, a week later than originally planned, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Sony Pictures had initially scheduled the film for July 24, 2026, but the studio has now moved up the release. The Hollywood Reporter also states that the film is being helmed by the director of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, though official confirmation is awaited.
With this change, Spider-Man 4 will now arrive shortly after Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, which features Tom Holland in a leading role and is slated for release on July 17, 2026.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the rescheduling of Spider-Man 4 allows the film to maintain some distance from Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated epic, The Odyssey, which also features Tom Holland.

Set to release on July 17, 2026, The Odyssey boasts a stellar ensemble cast, including Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson, and Charlize Theron. The Universal Pictures project is a cinematic adaptation of Homer’s legendary epic poem, promising an ambitious and visually stunning retelling of the classic tale.
Holland has previously played Peter Parker in three Spider-Man films, all directed by Jon Watts—Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019), and Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021). The last installment, No Way Home, was a massive box office success, surpassing $1 billion worldwide. Notably, it followed the events of Avengers: Endgame, making it an integral part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s narrative.
