The Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef has been making headlines one after the other ever since it first began. From one artist snapping back at the other with accusations and double entendres, the beef has been making it’s way to all domes of society.
Joe Biden recently used Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Euphoria' in his presidential campaign video attacking the former president, Donald Trump.
Hollywood legend, Tom Hanks feeling out of loop with the fiasco, asked his son Chet Hanks to school him on the biggest beef to date in modern hip-hop. Chet then took to Instagram to share the hilarious conversation between his father and him.
Chet shared the screenshots of the conversation that he had with his father on his Instagram stories.
Tom texted his son, Chet, “Big Main, can you explain the Drake/Kendrick Lamar feud to me?” To which Chet, who has saved his father’s contact name as “Pops”, gave a detailed analysis on the entire debacle.
Chet enthusiastically delved into an extensive explanation of the ongoing conflict, highlighting the succession of diss tracks exchanged between the rappers from April to May. It all kicked off with Drake’s "Push Ups," followed by Drizzy’s now-deleted "Taylor Made Freestyle," "Family Matters," and "The Heart Pt. 6," alongside K. Dot’s "Euphoria," "6:16 in L.A.," and "Meet the Grahams.”
Chet breaks it down for his father and it almost feels like a monologue out of a comedy skit. He goes, “Yeah, so Drake and this other dude J Cole been saying they along with Kendrick are the "Big 3" in Rap. Then Kendrick put out a song saying, “F-k the Big 3, it's just big ME" initiating the beef. Then Drake was like, "you got small feet cuz you're like 5 foot 5 or whatever." And then Kendrick was like, you're a dead beat dad and made fun of his Canadian accent.”
He further continued, “Drake came back and was like, “oh yeah? Well heard you beat your wife” but literally like 30 seconds later Kendrick put out a diss overshadowing Drakes diss where he pretty much methodically dismantled Drakes entire psyche and called him a pedophile for flirting with young girls.”
Lamar’s Billboard topping final diss track on the “Hotline Bling” singer, ‘Not Like Us’, was “pretty much the sonic equivalent” to when Tom Hanks took Chet out to a basketball game at his high school in Oakland, which made everybody start going “nuts”. Chet added that if his father listened to the track he would just spontaneously know how to “Crip walk with a stank face” grabbing onto an Oscar in each hand with the former American Footballer, Marshawn Lynch, and then dapping him up and saying, “Town Bidness.”
Chet proclaimed Kendrick Lamar the victor in the hip hop rivalry, extending the honor to the entire West Coast.
Tom reacted to Chet’s sermon saying, ““Holy cow! These are fighting words. People taking sides?? Who’s winning??” To which Chet replied, “Did you not just read what I said,” with three laugh-crying emojis.
