In his final appearance as Ethan Hunt, Tom Cruise pushes the boundaries of action in Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. One of the film’s most jaw-dropping sequences features the actor clinging to and maneuvering along the wings of a vintage 1940s biplane soaring over South Africa’s dramatic Drakensberg mountains.
“I remember seeing old footage of wing-walking,” says Cruise of a stunt he’s envisioned trying since he was a kid. “Those aircraft were only traveling at, I don’t know, 40, 50 miles an hour. This aircraft is up to over 120 miles an hour. Going out there, I was realizing that it takes your breath away.”
So, what powers Tom Cruise through such high-octane stunts? According to the star, it all starts with breakfast — and not just an ordinary one.
“I actually eat a massive breakfast,” reveals Cruise. “The amount of energy it takes — I train so hard for that wing-walking. I’ll eat, like, sausage and almost a dozen eggs and bacon and toast and coffee and fluids. Oh, I’m eating! Picture: It’s cold up there. We’re at high altitude. My body is burning a lot," he added.
Even after transforming the action genre for decades, Tom Cruise's enthusiasm shows no signs of slowing down — driven by sheer intensity, deep gratitude, and, it seems, a seriously energizing breakfast.
Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning is set to release in India on Saturday, May 17, 2025 in four languages- English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
