Horror continues to rule the box office. The Conjuring: Last Rites, the final chapter in the long-running franchise, has stormed its way into the global charts.
Within just eight days, the film has raked in $113 million in North America. On Friday alone, it pulled $8.4 million, proving audiences still can’t get enough of the Warrens’ paranormal world.
With this haul, Last Rites now sits as the 14th highest-grossing release of 2025. Not bad for a genre that usually gets overshadowed by superhero spectacles and action blockbusters.
Vera and Patrick Return
The film reunites Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson as Ed and Lorraine Warren, roles that have practically become horror royalty over the last decade. Their on-screen chemistry and steady performances are part of why the series has stayed strong across multiple films and spin-offs.
For fans, this chapter isn’t just another scare-fest—it’s a curtain call. The Warrens’ story gets a proper send-off, tying together the threads that began all the way back in James Wan’s original The Conjuring in 2013.

Behind the Scenes: Mia Tomlinson’s Casting
Another buzz around Last Rites is Mia Tomlinson stepping in as adult Judy Warren. Interestingly, Mia originally auditioned for both Judy and a young Lorraine. But after reading the part of Judy, she pushed to take that role instead.
Director Michael Chaves admitted it wasn’t an easy switch. “I was a little frustrated,” he said, adding he had “never seen a better Judy.” Mia herself recalled her Lorraine audition as “emotionally taxing” with “too much screaming and crying.” In the end, the choice worked out—the audience response to Judy’s arc has been strong.

A Franchise Legacy
With Last Rites climbing the charts, Warner Bros. and horror fans alike are reminded why The Conjuring universe is one of the most bankable horror brands of the century. Fourteen films in and still pulling nine-figure numbers—that’s no small feat.
The scares may be fictional, but the box office numbers are very real.
