Actor Thalapathy Vijay continues to win hearts not just on-screen but off-screen too, as Premalu star Mamitha Baiju recently opened up about her experience working with him on the sets of the upcoming film Jana Nayagan. The movie, which is slated to release during Pongal 2026, is generating buzz ahead of its teaser launch expected on June 22—Vijay’s birthday.

In a candid interview, Mamitha Baiju revealed how Vijay’s composed demeanor made a lasting impact on her during the shoot. “Vijay sir is punctual and very cool. Whatever happens in the Jana Nayagan set, he handles it very cool♥,” she said, expressing her admiration for the superstar’s professionalism.

The young actress also appreciated Vijay’s ability to listen with patience, calling him “a very good listener.” She recalled, “I used to blabber many things to him. He used to say ‘Hmm,’ ‘Haa,’ etc…” punctuating her thoughts with laughter. Her anecdote highlighted the grounded nature of one of Tamil cinema’s biggest stars.

Mamitha also recounted her first meeting with Vijay, admitting she was extremely nervous. “When I saw Vijay sir for the first time, I was extremely nervous. I could only manage to say ‘Hi Sir,’ and my hands were trembling. I couldn’t speak much beyond that,” she shared.

However, Vijay’s gentle response helped ease her anxiety. Understanding her nervousness, he smiled warmly and said, “Hi Ma,” while offering a handshake—a small gesture that left a huge emotional impression on her.

That simple interaction helped Mamitha overcome her jitters. “Vijay’s gesture made me overcome the nervousness,” she said. “As a fan, I don’t think I can express that feeling in words. It was beyond anything I could have imagined.”

Despite the heartwarming moments she shared with Vijay, Mamitha clarified that she isn’t the female lead in the film. That role is played by actress Pooja Hegde, who has already wrapped up her portions for the film.

Jana Nayagan is being produced under the banner of KV N Productions by Venkat K Narayana. The film also involves Jagadish Palanisamy and Lohith N K as co-producers. Music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, with cinematography by Sathyan Sooryan. The editing is handled by Pradeep E Raghav, while action sequences are being choreographed by renowned stunt director Anl Arasu.

With a powerful star cast and a crew full of seasoned professionals, Jana Nayagan is one of the most anticipated films of 2026. The teaser, expected on June 22, will offer a glimpse into what could be another blockbuster in Vijay’s stellar filmography.
