Suriya and Keerthy Suresh to team up for a big Telugu film: Report

Suriya has signed his first Telugu film and it will be directed by Venky Atluri of Sir and Lucky Baskhar.

Suriya, Kollywood’s topmost star, is all set to make a much-needed comeback and his upcoming projects are the talk of the town. The next film is said to be inspired by a true event and is tentatively called 796 CC. Bowing to Venky Atluri’s brilliant storytelling and unconventional storyline, Suriya reportedly gave a nod to the project at the first go. The shoot is set to start by May as the team is aiming for May 15 to be the date for their principal photography.

Now, the latest industry grapevine suggests that the makers are in talks with Keerthy Suresh to play the leading lady opposite Suriya. As per an article published in Telugu 360, Keerthy has a good rapport with Venky Atluri, who directed her in Rang De. The director is said to be confident that when she is seen with Suriya, it will create a new and interesting onscreen presence. Negotiations are in the advanced stages and we should have an official announcement soon.

S Naga Vamsi will bankroll the project under Sithara Entertainments, a reputed production house for quality content films. With a strong cast, and Suriya in an untraveled territory, the bilingual project is already one of the most anticipated projects. Additional casting and creative team will be announced soon.

On the other hand, Keerthy has signed Vijay Deverakonda’s next with Ravi Kiran Kola under Dil Raju’s banner. This shooting is also said to be commencing from June. More details on the same are awaited.
