Actor Sonu Sood once again stepped into the role of a real-life hero as he visited flood-hit areas in Punjab and promised support to a young boy battling a kidney disease. The actor, who has become a familiar face in relief work over the years, met the child named Avijot and assured his family that his treatment would continue uninterrupted despite the ongoing crisis.
With Punjab, Forever.
We were on the ground. We saw the loss, the heartbreak — and the strength that refused to fade. Villages under water, lives uprooted, but hope still standing.
Whatever Punjab needs, we are here.

On Sunday, Sood travelled to Punjab, where heavy floods have wreaked havoc across several districts. According to state officials, nearly 2,000 villages have been impacted, with more than four lakh people affected and 46 lives lost.
Rescue and relief operations are being carried out by the National Disaster Response Force, State Disaster Response Force, and volunteers on the ground.
Met little Avijot today in Punjab — a brave soul with a big fight ahead. We’ll do everything we can to help him heal. Wishing this little angel strength and a speedy recovery. He’s not alone. https://t.co/Rq1WaOd2Uw pic.twitter.com/YCaPSiIrbN— sonu sood (@SonuSood) September 7, 2025
Sharing his experience on X, Sood posted pictures from his hospital visit with Avijot. He wrote, “Met little Avijot today in Punjab - a brave soul with a big fight ahead. We’ll do everything we can to help him heal. Wishing this little angel strength and a speedy recovery. He’s not alone.”
Earlier, on September 5, the actor had already reassured the boy’s family that the floods would not disrupt his treatment.
“I’ve spoken with the family, and we’re committed to ensuring that the floods won’t interrupt his treatment,” Sood posted.
Alongside his commitment to the child, Sood highlighted the larger tragedy facing Punjab. From the ground, he described the destruction in villages where homes have been submerged, lives displaced, and crops destroyed. Yet, he also spoke of resilience: “We saw the loss, the heartbreak, and the strength that refused to fade. Whatever Punjab needs, we are here. To help. To rebuild. To heal — together.”
Sood has urged others to join in relief efforts, stating that those who lost their homes must be supported in rebuilding. Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema confirmed that the state has already released Rs 71 crore for relief, while 24 NDRF teams and 144 boats are working to reach the worst-hit villages.
