The controversy surrounding South Korean actress Song Ha-Yoon has entered a new chapter as the individual accusing her of school bullying has returned to South Korea to cooperate with investigators. The complainant’s arrival, more than a year after the allegations were first reported by JTBC, is expected to inject fresh momentum into the case, particularly with new evidence in the form of email records allegedly linked to Song Ha-Yoon’s agency.
The accuser, identified only as “A,” has released multiple public statements since the controversy began. In her fourth statement on August 25, she revealed her attempts to seek a resolution outside of court.
“I had no intention of making this into a dispute from the beginning. After the third statement, I suggested to her law firm that we cease all legal action and resolve the matter with dignity,” she explained, framing the proposal as her final attempt at settlement before legal escalation.
Discussions around financial support for the accuser’s travel have also surfaced. Song Ha-Yoon’s representatives reportedly offered to cover some of “A’s” costs to facilitate her return to Korea. However, the accuser dismissed the offer as inadequate. She clarified that she had personally covered airfare, accommodation, and transportation, stressing that the actress’s side exaggerated its contribution.
“Song Ha-Yoon’s side represented it as paying 100 percent of the total, but in reality, it is only a partial settlement within a limited scope. Even with simple calculations, I will have to bear at least six times more than Song Ha-Yoon’s limited support,” she stated.

The allegations trace back to 2004, when both attended Banpo High School. “A” accuses Song of persistent bullying during that period, claims which reportedly forced Song to transfer schools. Following the initial JTBC report, other classmates also stepped forward with corroborating accounts, fueling speculation and controversy.
With the accuser now preparing to submit email evidence to investigators, the case is likely to regain public attention after months of stalled progress. Whether the matter leads to formal charges or further disputes remains to be seen, but Song Ha-Yoon’s reputation faces renewed scrutiny as the investigation unfolds.
