MC Exclusive: In an exclusive conversation at the recently concluded 13th Dharamshala International Film Festival (DIFF), Bollywood actor Shahana Goswami tells Moneycontrol’s Tanushree Ghosh about how she landed the titular role in the film SANTOSH, which co-stars Sunita Rajwar and has been directed by Sandhya Suri. The film, which had its world premiere in the Un Certain Regard section of the 77th Cannes Film Festival, has been selected as the UK’s nominee/entry for the 2025 Academy Awards. Delhi-raised Goswami also talks about Bollywood, working in global projects, stepping into the character of a female cop from a social reality far removed from her own, why she thrives in cinema and doesn’t like the process of theatre, and her character in Kanu Behl-directed film Despatch, co-starring Manoj Bajpayee, that releases in December.
