Co-stars Sara Ali Khan and Aditya Roy Kapur recently reunited at director Anurag Basu’s annual Saraswati Puja celebration, bringing together a warm mix of cinema, culture, and quiet festive charm. Like every year, Basu opened his home to friends and colleagues from the film industry, turning the occasion into a close-knit gathering rather than a flashy event.
Among the many familiar faces spotted at the puja were Sara Ali Khan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra, and Kartik Aaryan. For Sara and Aditya, the gathering also marked a special moment, as it doubled up as a reunion after their collaboration in Anurag Basu’s upcoming film Metro...In Dino, where they play love interests. The two were seen interacting comfortably, reflecting the easy camaraderie they have developed through their work together.
The event also saw the presence of popular singer Sunidhi Chauhan and television star Rupali Ganguly, adding to the diverse mix of talent under one roof. In keeping with the spirit of Saraswati Puja, most guests chose traditional Indian attire in bright, festive colours. Sara Ali Khan stood out in a yellow salwar suit, a colour strongly associated with the festival.
Sunidhi Chauhan also opted for yellow, wearing a simple yet elegant kurta. Fatima Sana Shaikh chose a classic white saree paired with a red blouse, while Sanya Malhotra looked graceful in a blue saree. Rupali Ganguly, as always, caught attention in a red-and-yellow saree that suited the occasion perfectly.
Kartik Aaryan, who is currently working with Anurag Basu on an untitled upcoming project, was also part of the guest list. Kartik was seen posing for pictures with Basu and producer Bhushan Kumar, with one particular photograph from the puja quickly gaining attention online for its warm, celebratory vibe.

For those unfamiliar with the professional connections among the attendees, Metro...In Dino features a large ensemble cast including Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, Konkona Sen Sharma, Pankaj Tripathi, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Ali Fazal, and Fatima Sana Shaikh. The film’s title is thematically linked to the song In Dino from Anurag Basu’s earlier film Life in a... Metro, hinting at a continuation of urban stories and emotions.
Sanya Malhotra and Aditya Roy Kapur had earlier worked together in Basu’s 2020 film Ludo, while Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra made their big-screen debuts together in Aamir Khan’s Dangal. Known for films such as Barfi!, Jagga Jasoos, Kites, and Metro, Anurag Basu continues to bring people together, both on screen and off it, through shared stories and traditions.
