Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s intimate wedding at the Isha Foundation is slowly unfolding through the eyes of her closest friends, and one of the most talked-about details now is the simple, soulful food that marked the celebration. Designer and close friend Shilpa Reddy shared unseen photos from the ceremony, offering a clearer picture of the Bhuta Shudhi Vivaha and the traditional South Indian feast that accompanied it.
The newly released images show a thali that feels straight out of a temple kitchen: humble, wholesome and built around rice, dal and seasonal vegetables. The spread sits on a banana leaf placed inside a steel thali, reflecting the Isha Foundation’s strict adherence to sattvic, vegetarian food served without rich masalas.
The menu featured soft white rice topped generously with warm, tempered dal. Beside it sat a rustic sabzi made with bottle gourd and lentils, a dry curry of greens, a vegetable poriyal, a raw vegetable salad and a crisp vada. A small portion of purple rice sweet offered a nod to local Tamil Nadu flavours. Every element looked fresh, homemade and free of the excess usually associated with celebrity weddings. Even the chapati served alongside followed the earthy, minimal spirit of the meal.
The images shared by Shilpa also give a closer look at the ceremony preparations: brass lamps decorated with flower garlands, trays filled with turmeric, kumkum, sandalwood and grains, stacks of betel leaves, jasmine flowers and the traditional offerings used during the Bhuta Shudhi rituals. The aesthetic remains consistent with Isha’s approach to weddings — minimal, spiritually anchored and deeply traditional.
The final picture in the carousel shows Samantha seated between Raj Nidimoru and Shilpa herself, dressed in a striking red Kanchipuram sari, layered with temple jewellery and framed by floral drapes. Raj appears in a cream kurta-veshti set, keeping the ceremony’s tone understated and rooted in South Indian tradition.
While the internet continues to buzz about Samantha’s rare portrait-cut diamond ring and the couple’s quiet approach to their second marriage, these new photos highlight another aspect of their celebration: a wedding stripped of spectacle and guided instead by ritual, community and simplicity. Shilpa’s pictures reveal that the heart of the day lay not in extravagance but in authenticity, from the earthy temple setting to the comforting plate of rice and dal that fed their guests.
