Mumbai police is planning to recreate the crime scene at actor Saif Ali Khan’s home in Bandra, following a stabbing incident involving an intruder. The accused, a 30-year-old man named Shariful Islam Shehzad Mohammad Rohilla Amin Fakir, is from Bangladesh. He was arrested in the nearby Thane city on Sunday and taken into police custody for five days.
During these five days, the police will likely take the accused back to Saif Ali Khan’s apartment at the Satguru Sharan building in Bandra to reenact the events. This will help the investigators understand the sequence of actions that took place during the attack.
The police have created several investigation teams to look into the case. They have charged the accused under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code (Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita), and they revealed that the man was trying to escape to his hometown in Bangladesh when he was captured in Thane.
The incident happened on January 16, when Shariful entered the actor's apartment with the intention of theft. He sneaked into the building by climbing the stairs and using a pipe to reach the 12th floor. There, he entered Saif Ali Khan's flat through a bathroom window. Saif’s staff noticed him and the situation quickly escalated into an attack. The intruder then stabbed the actor multiple times before fleeing.
Saif Ali Khan, 54, was rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent a five-hour surgery. His sister, Soha Ali Khan, recently mentioned that Saif is recovering well and thanked everyone for their support. She also expressed relief that the situation was not worse.
