Hollywood star Robert Downey Jr., who is gearing up to make a dramatic return to the Marvel Studios' Marvel Cinematic Universe with Avengers: Doomsday, has recently celebrated Easter 2026 by dropping some of the exciting details of the upcoming film.
The actor took to his Instagram and dropped a hint. Robert will return to the franchise, but not in his iconic Iron Man suit. He will play the new role of Doctor Doom.
The actor posted a photo of Doctor Doom with multiple Easter eggs in a basket. Many Marvel characters who might make an appearance in the movie were represented by symbols on the eggs.
Captain America's blood-stained shield, Spider-Man, Black Panther, the Avengers (cracked egg), the X-Men, the Fantastic Four (crossed out), Namor, and Shang-Chi were a few clear examples. Fans have observed two eggs with a Spider-Man theme, which is interesting.
He further created excitement among the fans by ditching writing anything in the caption.
Avengers: Doomsday is one of the most anticipated films of 2026 globally.
Marvel Studios has also confirmed that Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Paul Rudd, Letitia Wright, Florence Pugh, Simu Liu, Tom Hiddleston, Wyatt Russell, David Harbour, Winston Duke, Danny Ramirez, Hannah John-Kamen, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, James Marsden, Kelsey Grammer, Channing Tatum, Tenoch Huerta Mejía, and Lewis Pullman will appear in teh film alongside Robert.

Produced by Marvel Studios and AGBO, and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, the upcoming film is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo. Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely have co-penned the script.
While most of the details of the plot have been kept under tight wraps, there have been speculations that the Avengers, Wakandans, Fantastic Four, New Avengers, and the X-Men team up to face Doom.
Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to release in the Indian theatres on December 18, 2026.
