Kantara Chapter 1 OTT Release Date: When and where to watch the Hindi version online

Rishab Shetty’s blockbuster hit Kantara: Chapter 1 is now streaming on OTT after an incredibly successful theatrical run. Fans, who missed watching it on the big screen or those eager to relive the magic, finally have a reason to celebrate.

The film, which released in theatres on October 2, marked Rishab Shetty’s powerful comeback as both director and actor.

Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1, which was produced by Hombale Films, is currently available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

Fans from various regions can enjoy the divine story in their native tongue thanks to the film's availability in both its original Kannada version and dubbed versions in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam.

But the wait is a little longer for Hindi speaking audience. Kantara: Chapter 1's Hindi dubbing won't be available on Prime Video until it has completed its eight week run in theatres.

In an interview with India Today, Hombale Films producer Chaluve Gowda affirmed this, stating that the release window was a component of a deal that was reached almost three years ago. The choice enables the movie to finish its theatrical run before releasing on digital platforms.

He said, “Only the South language (Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, and Malayalam) versions of the film will release on OTT right now, not the Hindi version. The Hindi version will come after eight weeks. The agreement for this release window was actually done three years ago, so it’s more of an obligation on our part. Back then, the standard practice was different.”

The prequel features a talented ensemble cast, including Rishab Shetty, Jayaram, Rakesh Poojary, and Prakash Thuminad, all of whom add depth and authenticity to the film’s rich storytelling and cultural backdrop.
