The world of Mirzapur is set to expand beyond streaming as the much-loved crime drama heads to the big screen. According to reports, actors Jitendra Kumar and Ravi Kishan are joining the cast of Mirzapur The Film, though an official confirmation is still awaited.

The film adaptation will reunite the iconic ensemble of Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, Divyenndu, and Shweta Tripathi. While the makers are keeping details under wraps, insiders reveal that Jitendra Kumar and Ravi Kishan attended the mahurat puja held on Thursday. “Their characters are being kept as a big surprise for the fans,” a source told HTCity.

Preparations for the ambitious project are already underway, with look tests and script readings in progress. Both Jitendra and Ravi are said to be actively participating in pre-production work.

Filming is expected to roll out next month. While Ravi Kishan declined to comment and Jitendra remained unavailable for response, the news has created a buzz among fans eager to see fresh faces in the Mirzapur universe.

Announced in 2024, the film is being helmed by Gurmmeet Singh and written by Puneet Krishna. It is scheduled for a 2026 theatrical release, with a digital premiere to follow. Shweta Tripathi is also expected to reprise her role as Golu, alongside the central trio that made the show a household name.

Earlier, Ali Fazal hinted at the film’s timeline in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “It has to be back in time because there are some dead people walking,” he teased, hinting that the story may delve into a prequel-like narrative.

First launched in 2018 on Prime Video, Mirzapur became a pop culture phenomenon with its gripping portrayal of crime, politics, and family rivalries in Uttar Pradesh. The new film promises to carry forward that legacy while adding fresh dimensions and characters to its universe.
