On Day 2 of News18 Rising Bharat Summit 2025, being held in New Delhi, Randeep Hooda reflected on his upcoming film, Jaat, which also stars Sunny Deol in the lead role. The actor also complimented Sunny Deol and opened up about working with him.

Randeep said, “Kitne soft spoken hai… wo dhai kilo ka haath dikhta nahi hai aise… sirf screen pe dikhta hai. Bahut hi saral, soft spoken insan hain (He's so soft-spoken... You would think he has a powerful punch, but it's only visible on screen. He's a very simple and gentle person.”

He continued, “Par wo itne soft spoken hain maine kaha ye kaise karenge par jaise hi action hota hai bhai me mata aajati hai… bhai ekdum se pata nahi kya… hum bhi darr jaate the pata nahi kya hogya (I questioned to myself, 'How will he do it?' But when the action starts, something just clicks. We all get scared, wondering what's happening).”

Randeep continued showering praise on his co-star and said, “He is a very sweet man. He is meant for larger-than-life cinema, and I really wish him well, and I hope this movie is a big sixer for him so that we can see more of that roar on the screen.”

The actor also reflected on filming the fight scenes with Sunny Deol. He said, “He is such an expert at action matlab tumhe lagne ka to sawaal hin paida nahin hota. "When we were filming fight scenes, I used to get really scared, especially when we had to punch each other in the face).”

He added that he initially hesitated to punch Sunny Deol, but the actor was surprisingly forthright about it. To bring authenticity to the scene, Sunny insisted that he punch him directly in the face, rather than just going through the motions by punching into the air.

He further noted, “He was very a big bravado about it and I quite enjoyed working with him.” However, Randeep also talked about Sunny Deol’s previous reference to his industry struggles.

He said, “Wo kehte hain ki Gadar 1 ne meri dukan band kar di Gadar 2 ne phir chala di… unke saath kya kya hua hoga inn bees saalo me main imagine nahin kar sakta (He says that Gadar 1 shut down my shop, and Gadar 2 opened it again... I can't even imagine what he must have gone through in these 20 years).”

Randeep added, "Unhone kaise ek dignity se, ek patience se, wo time kaata hai aur wo apne aap me ek inspiration hai kyunki kalakaaron ke saath aisa hota rehta hai (The way he endured that time with dignity and patience is inspiring, especially considering the ups and downs that artists often face).”

Randeep Hooda and Sunny Deol starrer action thriller Jaat is slated to be released in theatres on April 10.
